Black Cherry wood.

USA grown hardwoods are a renewable, biodegradable and sustainable resource.

The likeness of Big Ole, a statue on Lake Agnes shoreline in northern Alexandria, Minnesota, is captured here, encircled with an engraved, oval frame. It is complete with a red satin ribbon for hanging.

This giant Viking statue marks the 1898 discovery of an artifact, called the Kensington Runestone a 220-pound gray sandstone, inscribed. The stone reports a group of 30 Swedes and Norwegians explored the area in 1362, but 10 had been killed while others were away fishing. This American exploration predates Columbus by 130 years.

After much research and investigation, the stone's authenticity is still in question in scholarly circles today.

However, in Alexandria MN, Big Ole firmly displays his shield, which reads, “Alexandria: Birthplace of America.” The Stone is on display at the Runestone Museum, and the discovery site is at Kensington Runestone Park.

Minnesota is the state most populated (32%) by Scandinavian descendants and is heavily influenced by Scandinavian culture.

Nestled Pines' ornaments are engraved on solid hardwood grown and milled in the USA, and finished with a non-toxic, food-safe oil to bring out the beauty of the wood and to protect the ornament for years.
